The North’s leading organisation for energy and engineering business, NSIG (North of Scotland Industries Group), as part of a strategic move recently changed its name to Energy North. It represents 130 members and will be the region’s single voice on energy related issues.
Dynam were commissioned to create the new identity for Energy North. The logo for NSIG was a complex montage of specific energy sectors, and Dynam made the move towards a new umbrella brand for all organisation members, which is more emblematic. The use of purple and orange further distinguish it, as they are not common industry colours and contribute to its strong presence.
The arrow device suggests upward motion and progression, while the two halves illustrate ideas of convergence and dialogue. This works well with the strapline, Energising business, promoting growth, which has appeared on all the materials completed to date.
Dynam’s work on the new identity is set to have a significant impact on the perception of the region’s energy industry, and promote the developing role of Energy North in an industry with extremely broad interests.
