Highlands born and raised between the Black Isle and Beauly, Laura joined Dynam in November 2019 as our Project Manager. As a child, Laura grew up around building sites - which was not a good environment for someone who is accident prone! A lover of murder mysteries, she’s a big Nancy Drew fan and still loves a good Sunday afternoon watching Poirot or Midsomer Murders.
Going straight into work after leaving school, Laura tried out lots of different career paths, learning valuable skills along the way. After studying at UHI, Laura was drawn to communications and events work for both public and private sector organisations, which involved a lot of travel. Laura saw even more of the Highlands because her sense of direction wasn’t too good, with a tendency to get lost. A lot.
Laura has settled right in with the Dynam team and feels she has found her dream job. As well as loving the resident dogs and cats around the office, Dynam means Laura can work and live in her beloved Highlands.
Her favourite thing is to travel around Scotland and find new places - even when they’re right on her doorstep. Her best kept travel secret is Raasay - a quiet and peaceful sanctuary.
Away from her desk, she runs a haphazard walking group, which provides her the opportunity to explore some wild places around Scotland. Her ambition of the last five years has been to climb Ben Nevis - which will happen one day! And having just bought her first home a couple of years ago, Laura is busy experimenting with new foods, with varying degrees of success.
Her ideal brief would be any sort of event that involves organising dogs all day - and with Dynam’s pet-friendly culture, we’re sure we could make that happen one day!
