The Recap: 2018
Well, 2018 has been an absolute blast!
We kicked off the year down at the Eastgate Shopping Centre with Inverness Airport taking holiday snaps - and we’re ending on a good ol’ team night out to celebrate the work that has been done over the year.
This year, the marketing team enjoyed success on Facebook with over 13 million impressions, over 10 million page/post engagements, 19.4K link clicks, and thousands of business page likes for our clients, while thousands of our posts were shared! It means a lot, delivering the results for our clients - and our team!
Our web team has also been busy - this year they launched at least one new website every month, and the web team reckon they wrote around 150,000 new lines of code in the process!
The events team has been present at 15 exhibitions, for 91 exhibitors - that’s a whopping 1320 square metres of exhibition stand built - the equivalent of seven tennis courts!
Individually we've been up to lots too!
Eleanor learned to water ski this year and got up on her feet the first time!
Karen managed to get in more than two rounds of golf this year. She’s aiming for five next year!
Charlene continues to put on the weekly lottery syndicate - we’re yet to win...
Di released her second book on Amazon Kindle!
Jayne delivered her first marketing seminar at Highland Business Week and learned to ski.
Cindy is still baking cookies and looking forward to trying out some new recipes on the team next year!

John's band, bis, finally recorded a new album, their first in 17 years! Due to appear in Feb 2019.
Martin went bare-faced and raised £1,600 for the Movember Foundation with his pals!
David’s French is improving every week - “J'espere que 2019 sera aussi bon que 2018.”
Louise D has spoken to over 100 kids, inspiring them about design and creative studies! #YoYP2018
Louise K has taken up running and is enjoying it! She’s also starting to work on some digital stuff.
Sarah bought a beautiful home in Inverness and got an adorable cocker spaniel named Chuck.
Rory worked alongside the Dynam events team to manage the Highlands & Islands stand at Farnborough International Airshow this year!
Fact! Over 25% of Dynam employees bought an eve mattress in 2018! (David, Martin, Sarah, Kirsty and Eleanor) - 5/5 stars from us! Work hard, rest hard!
Looking towards 2019
- UGC (User Generated Content) - with word of mouth being one of the most trusted marketing tools, content generated by your customers are going to catch people’s eye.
- Voice and visual search are on the rise! The days of just typing your needs into Google are over - now we’re asking it to do it, or uploading a related image.
- Is it a human or a chatbot? Brands are improving customer service and implementing AI to help.
- There’s more than one reality - AR, VR & even MR! Businesses are embracing the power of this new technology for brand awareness, as well as in selling individual products.
- Social media takeover. Social media is now part of our everyday routine and understanding the shift in people’s habits is essential for businesses.
Stay up-to-date and remember sometimes you’ll need to embrace and adapt to change.
To finish off year, we’re sat wondering… What would we do without Christmas? How would we mark the year’s end? Find out all about our exciting new brief here - from a client who wants a new trend!
From all of us at Dynam, we’d like to wish you all a very sparkly Twinklemas and a Happy New Year!
