Orion is an international leader in the provision of personnel to a number of industry sectors. Via their worldwide network of offices, they manage the placement of thousands of contractors and permanent personnel every year throughout Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa.
We provide a range of design and marketing support, acting as an extension of the Orion marketing team and helping the company stand out in a highly competitive sector.
Orion came to us looking for a comprehensive organic social media strategy for their global recruitment services. After conducting a thorough social media audit, we put together a tailored strategy for their main goals: to raise awareness of the Orion brand and to increase organic engagement on social media. We now support Orion with their four main social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter) and write regular blogs for their website. Month on month this is resulting in increased engagement, growing their social media presence organically.
We worked with Orion Group to give their brand a lick of fresh paint. Before starting on the design work, we carried out competitor benchmarking, which included research on what other companies in their sector were putting out both online and offline. The challenge for Orion was to bring all of its services under a single brand identity, as over the years there had been various offshoots and standalone projects, reducing brand awareness and consistency. To stand them in good stead for the future, we developed a really robust set of brand guidelines for Orion Group. These provide guidance on everything from how to use the logo, to photography, graphic style, colour palette, fonts, colours and the relationship between the various brand elements.
To help Orion stand out in the highly competitive recruitment sector, in 2018 we worked with their marketing director to create a set of striking and unique photographic images. Our design and marketing teams worked with a model agency to find a range of models who represented Orion’s worldwide presence, and we spent two days art directing a photography shoot at a Glasgow photography studio. The best portrait images from the shoot were passed to our design team, who layered sector images (oil and gas, renewables, utilities etc) over the top. These images are still in use today - you might have seen them on airport billboards, social media, Orion’s annual report or their website.
