With branches across Scotland, DYW is an organisation that creates links between employers, teachers, young people and parents. It facilitates succession planning for employers, enabling education to connect with the workplace, and helping young people identify possible career paths based on skills and attributes, while parents gain valuable knowledge that enables them to offer practical support to children looking for a career.

The Brief

The Inverness and Central Highland branch of DYW operates under an umbrella logo used by all other branches, although each branch has its own colour palette. Since each branch manages its own budget, the ICH branch approached Dynam to set up its own website. Although the logo and colours were fixed, there was enough flexibility to create a distinctive feel for the website.

Design Elements

Dynam chose an isometric graphic approach, building a clean, bold design around striking 3D lettering. This created different perspectives for each letter – a neat way of expressing the different, yet linked perspectives of the four target groups served by the organisation.

Because the website design was so successful, Dynam went on to create additional marketing collateral for DYW. In January 2018, we were asked to judge a competition at Inverness College, for which four students had been briefed to rebrand DYW for the Year of Young People. The prize for the winner was a two-week work placement with Dynam, and the lucky recipient went on to complete an internship with us during the summer recess.
